How to Write a Resume With No Experience (Freshers & Students)

Updated 20 October 2026 · 6 min read

Every recruiter hiring graduates knows you have little or no work history. What they look for is evidence of potential: what you studied, what you built, how you learn and how you work with others. A fresher resume is built to show exactly that.

Use a fresher-friendly structure

  • Contact details and target job title.
  • A two-sentence objective or profile.
  • Education (with CGPA if 3.0+/4 or a strong percentage).
  • Projects — academic, personal or freelance.
  • Internships, volunteering and leadership roles.
  • Skills and certifications, then languages.

Turn projects into achievements

Treat a final-year project like a job: give it a title, your role and two bullets with results.

  • “Built a campus job board in React used by 300 students in its first month.”
  • “Led a team of four to deliver a solar water pump prototype graded A by an industry panel.”

Count everything that counts

Part-time jobs, tutoring, family-business work, society roles, hackathons, competitions and online courses all show initiative. Include them with honest, specific results.

Keep it to one page

One well-balanced page beats two thin ones. Our fresher templates are designed to look full and professional with less content.
